NEEDS STATEMENT
Physicians treating persons with
diabetes should be aware of the new understandings of the causes and
consequences of insulin resistance in young patients.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of this activity, the participant
should be able to:

Discuss the
pathogenesis and potential adverse effects of nonalcoholic fatty
liver disease (NAFLD) nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH)

Explain aspects
of the development of insulin resistance during childhood.

Properly
interpret the implications of insulin resistance on clinical
management of diabetic youth.

Physicians treating persons with diabetes mellitus.

After reading the article in the journal and reflecting on the
information presented, participants may register to complete the
exam and course evaluation online.
There are 8 multiple choice questions presented
in this course. A minimum grade of 70% (6 correct answers) must
be achieved in order to obtain CME credit.

will contain your final grade and allow you to immediately
